The Herefordshire Pupil Referral Service

Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) are educational centres that educate and support young people where they struggle to succeed educationally in mainstream secondary schools.

Herefordshire’s PRU provision has recently been re-organised by the local authority. From September 2014, the three existing centres in Herefordshire (St David’s Centre and Aconbury Centre in Hereford and The Priory Centre in Leominster) have been merged into a single PRU based at the two existing sites in Hereford.

The new PRU (proposed name The Herefordshire Pupil Referral Service) will offer the same number of places as previously (up to 80 students).

More information on the rationale behind the changes can be found here.

The two Hereford sites are split mainly between Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. To find out more about the centres, please click on the relevant link.
